5 Personal Growth Challenges That Will Change Your Life
Part 1:
The 21-Day No-Complaint Experiment.
This particular challenge was popularized by Tim Ferriss and Will Bowen. It’s relatively simple, but it can be a bit hard to follow through, especially when we’re short on patience. According to an article that was posted on 21Days.com, we’re exposed to approximately 500 complaints a day, and we also complain on average about 15-30 times daily. Dennis Prager said it best when he said, “Complaining not only ruins everybody else’s day, it ruins the complainer’s day, too. The more we complain, the more unhappy we get.” When we reduce the complaining we do, we can foster a more positive and resilient mindset. You can gamify this challenge with a sweet reward at the end, or you could simply set it up so that anytime you catch yourself complaining, criticizing, or gossiping, you have to start over in your 21-day challenge, or perhaps a combination of the two methods might do the trick. I could use a little less complaining in my life, so I’m going to start this challenge right now.
