Day #260 in A Year of Thanks

Day #260 in A Year of Thanks:
I’m thankful for Jesus Christ.

“God of Calvary” by Chris Tomlin is a great song to listen to in the dead of the night. It’s a soft, beautiful reminder of who Jesus is and why He died for us. There is no amount of good I can do in this world, no amount of positive, uplifting influence I could have over others, no amount of any and all good deeds genuinely coming from the purity of my heart that could ever earn me a ticket to Heaven. From the moment I was born, my default eternal destination was Hell. I am not and can never be saved by my own works. I am a sinner who falls short of the glory of the Lord every day. Still, I am saved by the blood of Jesus and accepting His free gift of salvation with Him as my Lord and Savior, the One who is the only Way, Truth, and Life. Above all, I am thankful for Jesus and what He did for me on the cross. I should’ve been the one on that cross for my sins, not Him, but He loves me enough to save me, and He loves you enough to save you, too, if you let Him in.
