Day #247 in A Year of Thanks

Day #247 in A Year of Thanks:
I’m thankful for my Big Blue Backup Files.

I have a huge laptop that I nicknamed Big Blue because of its baby blue color. Even though she’s obsolete, she’s still operational, though I primarily use her these days for graphic design. When I had serious concerns about its charging capability, I backed up all of my important files and pictures. That was several years ago when I purchased the laptop I’m using now, and I’ve since forgotten about them. I was looking for a specific video that I wanted to share for today’s post, and I thought I had downloaded it from Facebook before Facebook went on an auto-delete spree of every video before a particular date earlier this year. I don’t believe I saved the video, so I will just talk about it in tomorrow’s post instead, since the message is more important than the video. However, I was pleased to see a treasure trove of photos from Big Blue’s files that I thought I’d lost forever. I went through them, reminiscing about so many precious moments, like meeting my one and only oldest brother for the first time in 2007, as well as trips with family, friends, etc. I didn’t always have it easy, but these photos were a lovely and wonderful reminder that even though life isn’t always fair, there’s still always some way to find the beauty and magic in the most unexpected ways with people I love, and to never give up on looking for an opportunity to make the most of what’s in front of us, even if a dark time lies ahead, beside, or behind us.
