Day #187 in A Year of Thanks:
I’m thankful for my new salon-quality manicure and pedicure kit.
My poor fingernails are usually on the front lines of countless battles of anxiety when it rears its ugly head. As a kid, I used to bite them. I’ve grown out of that, but I still pick at them when my anxiety starts acting up. My anxiety has been at an all-time low lately, and my nails have been able to grow back to the length I like them. I’m weird with the length, honestly.
I typically prefer my fingernails to be short, especially in the summer, because I can’t stand when they get dirt under them. However, I also want them to be a little long. I decided to splurge on a salon-quality manicure and pedicure kit I had been wanting for a while. It’s pretty cool, and the cuticle oil I got is also pretty impressive. It was nice to take some time this afternoon just to focus on my hands and give them a little TLC while relaxing.
