Day #164 in A Year of Thanks:
I’m thankful that our furnace is in good shape.

This morning, Grams and I both missed a call from our furnace maintenance guy. Grams and I totally forgot to mark the appointment on our calendar. We’d only missed the call by a few minutes, but thankfully, he stayed in our driveway long enough for us to wake up. We felt so terrible, but he was pretty nice and forgiving about it. As for the furnace, it was a simple cleanup, accompanied by some preventive maintenance, which is covered for free under our contract with the company.
