Day #131 in A Year of Thanks:
I’m thankful that this day is almost over.

Mother’s Day is the toughest day of the year for me, and it’s even more difficult when my birthday falls on the same day. I can never get through this holiday without some tears. I avoid going out in public and try to stay off social media to avoid seeing all the special celebrations and sweet posts. Every mom out there deserves to be celebrated, and I genuinely hope for another most special and beautiful memory of it with them and those who made them a mother. My heart just hurts too much today, for reasons I don’t care to dive into at this time, and I can’t bring myself to share this pain with anyone else, so I go into hermit mode and patiently wait for the day to end.

Happy Mother’s Day, Mama. I love you, and I miss you so much. Rest in peace.
