Day #95 in A Year of Thanks:
I’m thankful that I found the rabbit hole of Italian content on Instagram.

I think I may need to classify Instagram as dangerous, at least for me (just kidding!). I’ve become less of a fan of social media over the last few years. However, I still use it to stay in touch with people around the world, and I also enjoy a sweet combination of reels that are both motivational and uplifting, as well as those that offer insight into the Italian language and culture. Before I knew it, every time I opened Instagram out of boredom, it would show me every single reel and post in Italian. I can scroll and scroll, but I’m still only receiving Italian language and culture reels, as well as some motivational and clean, fun/silly entertainment content in Italian.

I have to keep myself on a timer when I’m on Instagram, or I’ll get so caught up in the “rabbit hole” of Italian content on the app that I will lose track of time. However, I am absolutely loving how the Instagram algorithm has changed things for me, as I can’t get enough of the Italian language, and it’s a game-changer. I believe I’ve said something like this before, but I’m at the point where all I want to do, 24/7, is speak Italian and immerse myself completely in the culture, and that’s it! It’s a craving I can’t get enough of. I’ve had to sacrifice so much over the years, but this is one thing I refuse to give up on until my last breath on earth.

One day, Lord willing, I’ll somehow make this dream of total Italian immersion a reality.
E non vedo davvero l’ora. (And I really can’t wait.)
