Day #47 in A Year of Thanks

Day #47 in A Year of Thanks:
I’m thankful for Tylenol.

I’ve never been diagnosed with Restless Leg Syndrome, but I do have jumpy knees from arthritis that I’ve had since a few years after my major car accident when I was nine. If you’re new to my site, I’ll briefly explain what happened there. It was September 1997 when I was hit and run over by a car. It crushed my left pelvis, and the car drug it out of place. I was in a weight and pulley system for two weeks, also known as traction, to stabilize my pelvis in its correct position before I was placed in a body cast for three months.

That traction system had gone into my left knee, and to this day, I still have scars on both sides of my knee bone. Thankfully, I’ve fully recovered my ability to walk, but by the time I was thirteen, I’d developed arthritis in that knee. So, I began putting all my body weight on my right knee to alleviate my pain from the left knee. About a decade or so later, I started having the same arthritis flareups in my right knee that I’d get in my left knee. The flareups are worse when the barometric pressure drops and the knees get this dull, achy pain that becomes so intense it makes my knees jumpy.

It feels like my knees are so aggravated that my legs jump involuntarily, and it’s pretty annoying. If it happens during the daytime, I can usually calm it down with a massage. If it happens at night before bedtime or while sleeping, I will take a dose of Tylenol. This is the case for me right now. I took the medication about twenty or so minutes ago, and now my knees no longer feel jumpy, and the dull achiness has dissipated, so I am very thankful for Tylenol. With that being said, I’m off to bed. I hope you all have a great night, and I’ll see y’all tomorrow. Ciao for now!
