Day #3 in A Year of Thanks:
I’m thankful for another beautiful day.

Yesterday, I learned one of my colleagues had passed away unexpectedly. It was such a shock, especially since she was a kind-hearted person with an upbeat personality. She loved bringing our team together with a fun daily activity. She was funny and sweet, and she was phenomenal at her job. My thoughts and prayers are with her family during this difficult time.

The dreadful news of her passing truly put things into perspective. It serves as a stark reminder that no one is promised tomorrow. You or I could fall asleep for the last time tonight, only never to wake again on this side of eternity. Please don’t ever take for granted each new day that sweetly greets you upon waking. Please don’t ever take for granted your precious time with loved ones still blessed with breath in their lungs.

It goes without saying that I’m thankful for another beautiful day. If we’re blessed to see tomorrow, let’s spend it with someone we love. Let’s seize the day. Let’s make it even more beautiful with a passionate hug from the soul and a tender kiss from the heart.
